Job summary

Octave, a mission-critical software leader, seeks an Executive Director to steer public safety services delivery and operations from Madison, Alabama with a remote-friendly setup.

You will oversee CAD and RMS implementations, regional development, and hardware automation, driving on-time delivery, quality, and customer success, while building a high-performance leadership team and sustaining transformation.

Qualifications

• 10 years progressive leadership in professional services, technology consulting, or public safety, with significant hands-on delivery execution.
• Proven success leading large-scale implementations with on-time, on-scope delivery and quality.
• Deep public safety software experience (CAD, RMS, OnCall/Dispatch, NG911).
• Experience managing geographically dispersed implementation teams and embedding new delivery methodologies.

• Delivery Leadership: Ensure on-time, on-scope delivery across all service delivery functions; drive implementation excellence and customer outcomes.
• Technical Oversight & Solution Quality: Provide technical leadership for implementation approaches, solution architecture, and standards.
• Operational Accountability: Establish governance, decision protocols, and peer accountability; remove blockers to accelerate delivery.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead multiple service delivery functions with shared outcomes and autonomous domain decisions.
• Customer & Business Impact: Act as executive sponsor for strategic customers; manage relationships and escalations; drive satisfaction.
• Transformation & Culture: Sustain organizational transformation; embed new methodologies and peer accountability; develop leadership pipeline.

Responsibilities

Octave is seeking an Executive Director to lead public safety services delivery and operations. This role has direct accountability over several service delivery functions (CAD Implementation, RMS Implementation, Regional Development, Hardware & Automation) and works collaboratively with a leadership team to drive operational excellence, on-time delivery, and customer success. The ideal candidate combines executive-level services leadership, deep public safety industry expertise, and a strong commitment to execution discipline and peer accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery Leadership: Ensure on-time, on-scope delivery across all service delivery functions; drive implementation excellence and quality standards; own escalation resolution and customer outcomes.
• Technical Oversight & Solution Quality: Provide technical leadership and accountability for implementation approaches, solution architecture, and technical standards;
• Operational Accountability: Establish governance frameworks, decision protocols, and peer accountability systems; ensure teams work collaboratively to remove blockers and accelerate delivery.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead multiple service delivery functions through their respective directors with shared ownership of outcomes; empower autonomous decision-making within domains; hold peers accountable for delivery commitments.
• Customer & Business Impact: Serve as executive sponsor for strategic customers; manage relationships and executive escalations; drive project success and customer satisfaction.
• Transformation & Culture: Sustain organizational transformation; embed new methodologies and peer accountability practices; build high-performance leadership team and succession pipeline.

Education / Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 10 years progressive leadership in professional services, technology consulting, or public safety, with significant hands-on experience in implementation delivery and technical solution execution.
• Proven success leading large-scale implementations (100 concurrent projects) with direct accountability for on-time, on-scope, on-budget delivery and solution quality.
• Deep technical expertise in public safety software (CAD, RMS, OnCall/Dispatch, NG911) and hands-on knowledge of implementation challenges, integration patterns, and data migration complexities.
• Strong track record managing complex, geographically dispersed implementation teams; ability to troubleshoot technical issues and drive resolution with architects and delivery teams.
• Experience building peer accountability models and empowering senior technical and delivery leaders; comfortable with matrix and dotted-line relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational transformation, embed new delivery methodologies, and drive cultural change toward execution excellence.
