Job summary

Bedford 2030 seeks an Executive Director to lead this grassroots climate action group. The role guides fundraising, staff management, change management, community engagement, and environmental education to advance the organization’s mission.

The ED will leverage relationships with the Bedford Town Board, regional partners, and donors to expand programs beyond Bedford and toward broader impact. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in a nonprofit environmental or climate action setting.
• Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Strategic planning and change implementation experience.
• Experience managing staff and collaborating with a Board.
• Willingness to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising efforts and develop strategies with the Development Manager.
• Oversee staff, operations, and financial resources to maximize impact.
• Engage with municipal leadership, donors, partners, and the community.
• Direct strategic planning, program development, and climate action initiatives.
• Shape communications and messaging about organizational focus and metrics.
• Oversee board relations, governance support, and organizational oversight.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and annual financial filings with the accountant.
