Urban Land Institute (ULI) Washington seeks an experienced, entrepreneurial Executive Director to lead the District Council into its next chapter. The role requires strategic leadership, deep regional relationships, and the ability to grow sponsorships and program impact.

Based in Washington, DC, the Executive Director will set strategy, manage a small team, oversee events, and ensure fiscal sustainability while representing ULI Washington publicly as a trusted voice on land use and real estate.

Formación

• At least 10 years of senior leadership experience in a real estate, land use, or nonprofit administration capacity.
• Experience running an organization, chapter or business unit with responsibility for strategy, operations, budget and outcomes.
• Proven success cultivating and securing sponsorship, partnership or other funding from corporate and institutional partners.
• Experience leading teams, including early‑career staff, and building a positive, high‑performing culture.
• Strong relationships across the private and public sectors, ideally in the Metropolitan Washington region, or a demonstrated ability to build them quickly.
• Public‑private fluency across sectors, for example in public‑private partnerships, economic development, business improvement districts or civic organizations, is highly valued.
• Excellent public speaking and media skills, and comfort as a spokesperson in front of large audiences and the press.
• Budget management and financial planning for a small organization.
• Data and impact measurement experience to inform decisions.
• Education: BA in real estate, urban planning, business or public administration; advanced degree preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead strategy and annual operating plan for ULI Washington.
• Grow sponsorship and revenue to fund operations and growth.
• Engage private and public sector leaders across the DC region.
• Oversee a team of five and volunteer committees, ensuring robust engagement.
• Represent ULI Washington publicly as spokesperson and thought leader.
• Direct research, publications and communications advancing land use practice.
