Job summary

JPMorganChase in the United States is seeking a deeply technical Director of Software Engineering to lead the Equity Plan Services platform, managing multiple domains from Spring Boot microservices to AWS-based data layers and Kafka pipelines.

You will own production reliability, drive architecture decisions, and communicate precisely with Business, Trading, and Operations teams to translate requirements into engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading technologists.
• Experience building or leading large, cross-functional teams of engineers.
• Strong backend focus with Java/Spring Boot and Python, plus SQL/NoSQL data skills.
• Deep AWS expertise and hands-on use of Kafka for streaming workloads.
• Proven ability to communicate with business and technology stakeholders clearly.

Responsibilities

• Directs multiple engineering domains with a focus on microservices and cloud infra.
• Sets multi-department strategy for event-driven design and cloud architecture.
• Establishes standards for microservices, deployment, and automated testing.
• Leads cross-domain integration and cross-functional delivery improvements.
• Interacts with senior leadership to align technical objectives with business goals.
