Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation seeks a Senior Director of Organizational Effectiveness to lead organizational design, operating model alignment, and change management across the enterprise. This role partners with senior leaders to align structures, decision rights, roles, and workflows with strategic priorities, boosting agility, efficiency, and performance.

The position reports within the Communications organization and can be based in Houston, Findlay, or San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or related field.
• Advanced certification in organizational development (e.g., CODP) or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in organizational development, organizational design, HR business partnership roles.
• Industry experience preferred in energy/utilities/capital-intensive industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and refinement of organizational structures, roles, and reporting lines to improve execution speed.
• Conduct organizational effectiveness assessments to identify misalignments in skills, teams, accountability and decision rights.
• Develop enterprise capabilities for transformation success and advise leaders on spans of control and centralization vs decentralization.
• Partner with HR, Talent Management, and Workforce Planning to address skill gaps and optimize team structures.
• Lead change management initiatives to shift culture toward agility, prioritization, and collaboration.
