Job summary

CareCore at Gaymont in Norwalk, Ohio seeks an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and uphold resident-centered care. This RN leader will oversee nursing operations, regulatory compliance, and quality of care across the facility.

The DON will mentor staff, manage staffing and performance, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and drive survey readiness and infection prevention initiatives while fostering a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license required.
• Long-Term Care (LTC) leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Previous Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
• Experience with state surveys and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain high standards of resident care and clinical quality.
• Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff through coaching and education.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and clinical performance.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive resident outcomes.
• Participate in quality assurance, infection prevention, and survey readiness initiatives.
• Foster a positive, resident-centered culture throughout the facility.
