Rochester Public Schools is seeking an accomplished financial leader to serve as our next Executive Director of Finance. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance or accounting professional to bring their expertise to a complex, mission-driven organization serving approximately 18,000 students and employing more than 3,000 staff members.

As a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet, the Executive Director of Finance plays a critical role in shaping the district's financial strategy, ensuring fiscal accountability, and supporting decisions that directly impact students, employees, and the broader Rochester community.

The Opportunity

The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the district's financial functions, including:

• Financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls
• Budget development, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Payroll, employee benefits, and purchasing operations
• Financial analysis, compliance, and expenditure oversight
• Leadership and development of a multidisciplinary finance team
• Strategic collaboration with the Superintendent, School Board, and district leadership

This position directly supervises the Managers of Accounting, Payroll & Benefits, and Purchasing, along with four staff accountants, and provides indirect oversight of approximately 20 additional full-time equivalent employees.
