Job summary

Horizon Health in Pinehurst, NC seeks an Executive Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing) to oversee the inpatient Behavioral Health Program at First Health Moore Regional Health. This role leads clinical operations for a 28-bed adult/dual-diagnosis unit and drives program quality and regulatory compliance.

The executive will provide clinical supervision for nursing, counseling, patient support, and administrative staff, shape policy, and coordinate with the Hospital and Horizon to advance

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in North Carolina.
• Master’s degree required, if in a field other than nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• CPR Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare leadership.
• Experience in an acute care mental health setting required.

Responsibilities

• Liaises between Program, Hospital and Horizon; communicates information and needs appropriately.
• Provides leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines.
• Provides clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support and administrative staff.
• Develops, in coordination with the VP, Clinical Practice, policies and procedures for the Program.
• Ensures the Program meets all federal, state, local and accrediting bodies’ regulations and standards.
• Supervises all patient care and sets guidelines for reporting and recording of patient symptoms and progress.
• Recruits and selects qualified staff for the Program.
• Supports professional growth and development of staff through training plans.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH (Nursing/Registered Nurse) - Pinehurst, NC

Horizon Health is seeking an Executive Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing) to oversee the Behavioral Health Program at First Health Moore Regional Health in Pinehurst, NC. This unit is a 28 bed adult/ dual diagnosis program. Included in these responsibilities are: 1) the development and maintenance of a high-quality treatment program; 2) the development and implementation of a comprehensive community relations program; and 3) strategic planning, program administration, and development.

Responsibilities

• Performs as liaison between Program, Hospital and Horizon; communicating information and needs appropriately
• Supports Hospital and Horizon missions, goals and objectives
• Provides leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines
• Provides clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support and administrative staff
• Develops, in coordination with assigned VP, Clinical Practice, implements and updates all policies and procedures for the Program
• In coordination with the Hospital, ensures the Program meets and maintains all federal, state, local and accrediting bodies’ regulations and standards
• Participates in assessing and reassessing the program needs of the patient
• Supervises all patient care and sets guidelines for accurately reporting and recording of patient symptoms, reactions, and progress
• Develops processes to audit and coordinate ongoing education to ensure all staff are trained on proper documentation of all aspects of the patient’s care
• Recruits, interviews, and selects qualified staff for the Program.
• Provides for professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs, development of individual training plans and participation in training programs
