Job summary

The National MS Society is seeking an Executive Director to lead major gifts, corporate partnerships, peer-to-peer and event fundraising for the Northeast Region—Greater NYC-Long Island Chapter. The role requires regular in-person meetings, constituent interactions, and up to 50% travel, with remote work options from home or Society workspace.

Qualifications

• Proven nonprofit leadership with increasing responsibility and ability to secure six- to seven-figure gifts.
• Experience with AI, predictive analytics, and CRM tools for donor journeys and forecasting.
• Proven ability to drive community event fundraising and cultivation programs.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed remote/hybrid teams and coaching staff.
• Ability to meet fundraising goals under pressure and manage large-scale portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Serve as market expert and generate leads organization-wide through Individual Giving, Corporate Partnerships, Foundations, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Events and mission work.
• Manage volunteer leaders within chapter boards and support regional events and initiatives.
• Lead frontline fundraiser within assigned markets to achieve Development department revenue goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and maintain open dialogue to support local and regional execution.
