Polk County, IA seeks an executive to direct county-wide legal affairs coordination, personnel and labor-relations strategy, enterprise compliance, policy development, and risk management. This administrative role advances Board policy while maintaining the statutory functions of the County Attorney.

The position identifies issues, coordinates with the County Attorney and outside counsel, and leads cross-functional teams to drive ethical governance and operational integrity.

Competenze

• Graduation from an accredited law school with current Iowa licensure.
• Experience coordinating legal affairs, policy development and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage external counsel and complex contracts.

Mansioni

• Serve as primary counsel to the Board of Supervisors and county officials on legal affairs, compliance, labor relations, risk management and policy implementation.
• Coordinate with County Attorney and outside counsel; manage resources and litigation strategy while respecting statutory roles.
• Oversee procurement, budgets, and performance terms for professional services and outside counsel.
