Job summary

Community Health System is seeking an Executive Director of Laboratory to provide strategic leadership across a systemwide laboratory enterprise spanning acute care hospitals and ambulatory settings.

You will shape the future of diagnostic services, influence clinical quality, operational excellence and the delivery of high-value care across communities served. A focus on mentoring leaders and driving performance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences required.
• 8 years of progressive laboratory leadership experience required.
• Significant experience leading multi-site or system-level laboratory operations required.
• Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) or its equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Providing strategic, clinical and operational leadership across the laboratory enterprise and establishing a systemwide vision for standardization and performance.
• Partnering with executive leadership, physicians, nursing, finance, supply chain and IT to advance quality outcomes and regulatory readiness.
• Developing and mentoring laboratory leaders and driving accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Providing strategic, clinical and operational leadership across the laboratory enterprise, you will establish and execute a systemwide vision that drives standardization, integration and performance across all care settings. In partnership with executive leadership, physicians, nursing, finance, supply chain and information technology teams, you will advance quality outcomes, strengthen regulatory readiness and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and emerging technologies. Through oversight of financial performance, capital planning, resource utilization and operational metrics, you will optimize service excellence, fiscal stewardship and sustainable growth. You will also develop and mentor laboratory leaders, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement and position laboratory services to support evolving care models and organizational priorities.
