Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking an Academic Coordinator with the working title Executive Director of the Korea Law Center to manage day‑to‑day operations and lead a research hub dedicated to U.S.–Korea legal scholarship and professional exchange.

The mission is to study and promote solutions at the intersection of U.S. and Korean law, building on the Center’s achievements since 2009 and fostering relationships with top law institutes, firms, and government bodies.

Qualifications

• Law degree (J.D. or LL.M.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Proven leadership, managerial, and fundraising skills.
• Deep knowledge of Korean law, legal systems, and international legal collaborations.
• Strong communication skills in English and Korean.
• Prior experience developing U.S.–Korea partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership to advance the center's mission and partnerships.
• Manage operations and programming of the Korea Law Center.
• Develop extramural funding proposals and manage finances and staff.
• Organize conferences and programs for scholars and practitioners.
• Lead communications to maintain a high-profile center presence.
