Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Senior Director of Infrastructure Services to lead a 400+ strong team overseeing facilities, utilities, waste, site services, and project management. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction, planning, science, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for senior leadership roles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational planning across infrastructure lifecycle and campus planning.
• Balance mission needs with safety, quality, risk, cost, and workforce capacity.
• Advise independently, resolve priorities, and assign execution rights.
• Oversee operating, maintenance and capital budgets and project investments.
• Set measurable goals for financial stewardship, asset condition, and reliability.
• Direct waste operations per regulatory requirements.
• Establish performance standards and proactive issue detection.
• Collaborate with DOE, regulators, and leaders to translate requirements into action.
• Leverage asset-management systems, analytics, and visualization tools.
• Ensure IS work complies with laws, DOE requirements, permits, and standards.
• Embed safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in planning and execution.
• Implement QA, corrective actions, and lessons learned processes.
• Foster relationships with DOE, regulators, and external partners.
• Build an accountable, inclusive leadership team and manage change with urgency.
