Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an Executive Director of Human Resources to lead the people and organizational strategy across the enterprise. The role partners with entity presidents and executives to align talent, workforce planning, and culture with business goals.

The successful candidate will shape the HR program, drive leadership development, and oversee transformation initiatives while working across departments to enable growth and high patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Admin, Organizational Dev or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
• 10+ years in a people leader role.
• J.D. or Cert HR Investigator credentials preferred.
• SHRM cert preferred.
• Experience in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Research or Academic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior HR strategic partner to executives shaping people, organization and engagement plans.
• Translate business strategies into organization design, workforce planning, and culture priorities.
• Develop HR strategies representing business needs while championing a system mindset.
• Lead strategic workforce planning and operating model evolution to support growth and performance.
• Drive transformation and change leadership across complex, matrixed environments.
• Coach and develop leaders to enhance effectiveness and prepare for broader roles.
• Lead proactive labor relations and issue resolution in partnership with centers of expertise.
