Job summary

The University of North Carolina System is seeking an Associate Vice President of Health Affairs Operations to serve as the senior operational leader for Health Affairs. The role will direct statewide health workforce initiatives, funding programs, grants, contracts, and operations, reporting to the Vice President for Health Affairs.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare administration, healthcare policy, health systems operations, grant administration, government relations, or public sector leadership.
• Experience administering complex public funding programs and managing large-scale projects.
• Preferred: Juris Doctor with experience in healthcare law or regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of statewide health workforce initiatives, funding programs, grants, contracts, and operational processes.
• Provide executive leadership for day-to-day Health Affairs operations, ensuring stewardship of public funds, regulatory compliance, and project execution.
• Collaborate with UNC constituent institutions, state agencies, healthcare partners, and divisions within the UNC System Office to advance statewide health initiatives.
