Job summary

Merck is seeking an Executive Director, Global Public Policy for Vaccines & Infectious Disease. This U.S.-based role (DC preferred) oversees strategy, advocacy, and cross-functional policy initiatives across a global franchise.

The position leads a diverse policy team and interfaces with senior leadership and external stakeholders. The role requires deep expertise in health policy, substantial leadership experience, and a proven ability to navigate global policy and regulatory environments while

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in public policy, with significant vaccine and infectious disease policy exposure.
• Experience with government and non-governmental organizations active on vaccine policy issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of the Global Vaccine and Infectious Disease Policy strategy across multiple functions.
• Provide strategic leadership for policy engagement with stakeholders to ensure a coordinated advocacy approach.
• Lead a cross-franchise, geographically broad team and drive enterprise-wide execution.
• Engage regional and country policy teams to advance regional policy objectives.
• Manage cross-therapeutic policy efforts and external stakeholder engagement.
• Advise senior leadership on evolving policy, geopolitical and public health developments.
• Build relationships with senior governmental and non-governmental stakeholders to advance policy objectives.
