Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Executive Director of Global Public Policy for Vaccines & Infectious Disease to lead strategy and advocacy globally. You will report to the AVP, Global Vaccines & Infectious Disease Policy, shaping policy across regions and driving enterprise alignment.

The role requires 15+ years in public policy with vaccine/public health focus, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Location preferred in Washington, DC; US-based with flexible options.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Global Vaccine and Infectious Disease Policy strategy across Strategic Access, Policy and Communications, Human Health, and R&D.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for policy engagement to ensure a coordinated, high-impact advocacy approach.
• Lead a cross-franchise, geographically broad team, fostering organizational effectiveness and high performance.
• Engage with regional and country policy teams to advance regional and local policy objectives in priority vaccine and infectious disease areas.
• Manage cross-therapeutic and cross-functional policy efforts with external partners and stakeholder communications.
• Serve as policy point person to senior leadership on evolving policy, geopolitical, public health, and access-related developments.
• Build relationships with governmental, multilateral, NGO, and patient advocacy stakeholders to advance policy objectives.
• Demonstrate ability to navigate complex global policy and regulatory environments; anticipate issues and develop enterprise-wide solutions.
