Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Executive Director for NS&E and Product Source Management to set strategic direction and oversee a global network execution portfolio. You will lead a team of directors, coordinate with OPS, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, and drive accountability across the organization.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in pharma manufacturing, strong cross-functional leadership, and a proven ability to deliver complex strategic initiatives from planning through execution.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing, operations, network strategy, supply chain, or related fields.
• Experience leading senior managers, directors, or large global teams in a matrixed environment.
• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and enterprise business processes.
• Ability to lead complex multi-workstream strategic initiatives from planning through execution.
• Strong financial and business acumen to evaluate tradeoffs and impact.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated talent development and building high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for NS&E portfolio and lead execution of network rationalization strategies.
• Lead, coach, and develop a global organization of directors and managers.
• Oversee portfolio governance, risks, and dependencies across projects.
• Partner with Operating Unit leaders and cross-functional teams for aligned decisions.
• Develop and evaluate business cases for network evaluations and strategic options.
• Drive risk management and accountability through governance and metrics.
