Job summary

Momentum Association Management seeks an Executive Director to lead a portfolio of association clients, building trusted relationships with boards and guiding priorities. You will coordinate the Momentum team delivering day-to-day work and act as the primary relationship owner for your clients.

You will translate governance needs into actionable plans, review financial performance, and ensure commitments become measurable results. Travel to board meetings and events may be required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in association management or nonprofit leadership with volunteer boards.
• Experience budgeting and presenting financial information to boards.
• Strong relationship-building and sound judgment in sensitive issues.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple organizations with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and use association management tools and collaborative project software.
• Ability to travel for board meetings and client events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary staff contact and strategic partner for assigned association clients.
• Build relationships with board members, officers, and volunteers.
• Prepare and support board and executive committee meetings with agendas and reports.
• Advise on governance, policies, and leadership transitions.
• Track progress, risks, and decisions needing attention.
• Establish priorities, plans, and measure progress toward goals.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen membership, programs, and revenue.
• Lead development of annual client budgets with Momentum's finance team.
• Review financials and explain results to boards and finance committees.
• Coordinate across teams delivering client services and ensure timely delivery.
• Share learnings to improve Momentum processes and services.
