Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Vice President, Environmental Remediation Engineer to lead multi‑media remediation programs across California offices including Oakland, San Jose, and San Diego. You will drive business development, manage complex engineering projects, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.

The role requires a CA PE license, 12+ years in environmental remediation and sales, and proven ability to secure projects while delivering on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or related Engineering field.
• California (Civil) Professional Engineer’s License.
• 12+ years of related environmental remediation and sales experience.
• Strong work ethic, project management experience, and self‑starter attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with remediation/assessment projects involving the Regional Quality Water Quality Control Board, DTSC, and/or local CUPAs.
• Ability to mentor and direct engineers and technicians.
• Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board, and other CalEPA programs.
• Consulting experience with petroleum contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater (LNAPL) and/or chlorinated solvent contamination remediation.
• Consulting experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues.
• Developing and managing complex engineering design and design‑build projects.
• Oversee remedy construction and operation/maintenance of environmental project work.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check, and hold a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform business development within Oil & Gas and Industrial/Commercial sectors for environmental remediation, engineering, and related services.
• Lead design, oversight, mentorship, and direct the efforts of staff‑ and project‑level engineers.
• Assist preparation of technical reports and proposals.
• Collaborate with Service Line Leader, Sector Lead, Principal, and Senior‑level employees in the office and firm‑wide.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are met.
• Travel to projects as needed for execution of project goals and business development.
• Achieve sales, revenue, and delivery goals.
