Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Executive Director, AI Engineering and EHR Systems to lead enterprise AI strategy, development, and deployment. You will guide AI platforms, ML solutions, data pipelines, and Epic EHR integrations, while shaping architecture, governance, and security to scale AI responsibly across the health system.

You will build and mentor high-performing teams, partner with clinical and digital teams, and drive adoption of AI initiatives from concept to enterprise-wide

Qualifications

• 15+ years related work experience required.
• 8–10 years supervisory/management experience required.
• Experience leading the strategy, development, deployment, and operations of enterprise AI and machine learning solutions.
• Experience managing Epic EHR backend systems and HealthConnect integrations.
• Extensive healthcare environment experience, with regulatory, data governance and patient safety focus.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, deployment, and operation of enterprise AI platforms.
• Establish scalable AI infrastructure, development frameworks, APIs, and reusable services.
• Define AI engineering standards and architectural guidelines for scalability, security, reliability.
• Establish operational processes, monitoring, observability, and support models.
• Lead incident management and continuous improvement for AI platforms and services.
• Establish controls for model evaluation, monitoring, explainability, governance and risk.
• Manage relationships with AI technology vendors, cloud providers, and stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and investments aligned with strategy.
• Ensure AI solutions integrate with enterprise apps, data platforms, and clinical workflows.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and career development for managers and engineers.
• Oversee the operation and reliability of Epic EHR backend systems and integration engines.
• Establish KPIs and metrics to measure AI adoption, effectiveness, ROI.
