Job summary

University Hospital seeks an Executive Director of the Emergency Department to strategically develop and implement clinical activities and to oversee the business operations and fiscal management of the Emergency Department.

The role includes 24-hour management, administration and organizational development, with a focus on quality patient care and patient safety through strong leadership and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in New Jersey with a BSN.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
• Eight years of progressive nursing experience, including at least three years in management or as ED director.
• Ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals and strong communication, organization and team-building skills.
• Strong strategic and analytic ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement clinical activities of Emergency Department Services.
• Provide direction and oversight for business operations and fiscal management of the ED.
• Oversee 24-hour management, administration and organizational development of the ED.
