Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations for the Emergency Department Service Line to provide strategic and operational leadership for high‑quality, patient‑centered emergency care. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, align ED operations with our mission, and drive initiatives that improve access, throughput, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

Master's of Nursing or related field is required or actively enrolled.
Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license.
Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department.
Clinical Specialty Professional Certification within 1 year upon eligibility.
7–10 years of relevant leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the ED service line, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care.
Lead a multidisciplinary team and align ED operations with organizational goals and metrics.
Develop and execute business/unit plans to improve patient experience, throughput, and outcomes.
Use data to prioritize initiatives, remove barriers, and drive evidence‑based practices.
