Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an Executive Director of English Learner Instructional Development to lead EL and bilingual instruction district-wide. This role oversees curriculum, materials, and professional development to advance equity and academic excellence for English learners.

The Executive Director will supervise a team, report to OMME leadership, and align programs with district goals, ensuring high-quality curricula and effective assessment strategies across schools.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education required.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with bilingual/ESL and administrative endorsements required.
• Doctoral degree in Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead district-wide strategy for EL and bilingual instruction.
• Collaborate with department leaders to plan curriculum materials and instructional tools.
• Oversee professional development to align with EL and bilingual education standards.
• Manage a team of direct reports and drive performance and coaching.
• Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
• Coordinate with network leaders to implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
