Job summary

The City of Garden Grove is seeking an innovative, collaborative Economic Development Director to lead the Economic Development and Housing Department, guiding a multidisciplinary team and advancing the city’s economic vitality, housing opportunities, and quality of life.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and effective leader who can translate goals into measurable results, build public-private partnerships, and champion inclusive growth across Garden Grove’s diverse business

Qualifications

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex programs.
Strong knowledge of urban development, housing, and economic development strategies.

Responsibilities

Provide executive leadership for Economic Development, Housing, and Administration divisions.
Advance development, redevelopment, and investment initiatives across Garden Grove.
Oversee budget, grants, contracts, and real estate activities to support strategic priorities.
Represent the City with local and regional partners to advance economic vitality and housing opportunities.
Lead efforts to address homelessness and community development initiatives.
Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing workforce.
