Qualifications

• Significant senior-level leadership and management experience with organizational strategy, staff, operations, and finances.
• Experience with intellectual and developmental disability issues, services, advocacy.
• Public policy, legislative processes, government relations experience.
• Knowledge of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (DD Act).
• Demonstrated success building partnerships among diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for implementing the Five-Year State Plan and ensure measurable outcomes.
• Advise and support Council members in governance, policy, planning, and oversight.
• Lead public policy, advocacy, and systems-change initiatives at state and federal levels.
• Develop and sustain partnerships with government agencies, disability organizations, and community stakeholders.
• Oversee council-funded programs, grants, contracts, and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with the DD Act and applicable laws and funding requirements.
• Provide financial oversight, budgeting, and grants management.
• Recruit, develop, and retain professional staff in a collaborative workplace.
• Act as spokesperson for the Council and its beneficiaries.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen statewide impact.
