Job summary

Disability Rights Louisiana (DRLA) seeks an experienced Executive Director to lead a statewide disability rights organization, overseeing programs, staff of about 50, a $5M annual budget, and compliance with funders.

The ED will partner with the Board, advance policy advocacy, build strategic growth, and strengthen relationships across Louisiana and nationally to maximize impact for people with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven nonprofit leadership experience guiding complex teams and programs.
• Strong advocacy and policy change experience for disability rights.
• Fiscal oversight with budget development and funding diversification.
• Effective collaboration with staff, Board, and union/management partners.
• Excellent writing, analytics, and communication skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, program planning, and financial oversight.
• Build a collaborative culture and transparent communication.
• Oversee budget, reporting, and compliance with federal and other funders.
• Develop and communicate DRLA’s strategic vision to legislators and partners.
• Supervise Leadership Team and mentor senior staff.
