Job summary

Neighborhood Development Alliance, based in St. Paul, MN, seeks an Executive Director to lead a HUD-certified counseling agency and oversee housing, lending, and community development programs.

You will guide strategy, fundraising, finances, and personnel while reporting to the Board of Directors. The role requires strong nonprofit leadership, financial acumen, and ability to build partnerships with government, funders, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience as executive director or senior nonprofit leader.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
• Deep knowledge in at least one, and preferably all, of our business lines (homeownership counseling, real estate development, lending).
• Demonstrated experience in fund development.
• Experience influencing public policy.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Boards of Directors in furthering an organization’s mission
• Strong financial management skills.
• Experience with managing public funding sources, including federal programs.
• Experience instilling a culture of inclusiveness, equity, accountability, and transparency.

Responsibilities

• Board Support: Ensure informed, timely policy decision-making by the Board of Directors.
• Strategic Planning: Develop short and long-range goals with the Board and staff.
• Program and Project Development: Initiate, delegate, and evaluate projects addressing the mission and securing funding.
• Asset Management: Review property management reports and budgets for affordable housing.
• Real Estate Development: Seek opportunities to develop ownership and affordable rental housing on St. Paul’s West Side.
• Financial Management: Develop operating budgets, oversee audits, and manage funder relationships.
• Staff management: Hire and supervise personnel, foster an inclusive work environment.
• Oversee NeDA Centro de Finanzas and its lending activities.
• Responsibilities of all NeDA Employees.
