Job summary

Crievewood United Methodist Church Child Care Center in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead daily operations, ensure DHS compliance, and oversee curriculum, finances, and family engagement.

You will recruit and develop a compassionate team, maintain enrollment, and build strong ties with families and the Crievewood UMC community, while upholding the center's Christian mission and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in early childhood education, Elementary Education, or Business Administration.
• 3-5 years of experience in a childcare or education setting.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Knowledge of current TN DHS requirements & ability to comply with all regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to Crievewood UMC’s Christian mission.
• Experience in office administration or accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations, staff, and program quality.
• Uphold compliance with Tennessee DHS regulations.
• Maintain full enrollment through recruitment and waitlist management.
• Approve communications and program calendars.
• Oversee facility safety and maintenance.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff; support professional growth & training. Foster a supportive, nurturing staff-culture.
• Build strong family and community relationships.
• Manage budgets, payroll, and resources efficiently alongside our bookkeeper.
• Stay current with early childhood education best practices.
