Job summary

Ferguson Road Initiative in Dallas seeks an Executive Director to lead fundraising, strategy, and community impact. You will cultivate major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and public funding while guiding organizational growth and partnerships.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a proven donor-centric approach to advance long-term sustainability in Far East Dallas.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years of progressive nonprofit leadership experience, including staff supervision and organizational management.
  • Demonstrated success personally securing major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and public funding.
  • Proven track record managing and growing a fundraising program supporting a budget of at least $880,000.
  • Experience creating and implementing fundraising strategies that produce measurable revenue growth.
  • Strong relationship-building and donor stewardship skills.
  • Experience working with boards of directors and engaging volunteers in fundraising activities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience with donor databases and CRM systems; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • CFRE credential or active involvement in fundraising professional organizations such as AFP is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of community development, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, or place-based initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Experience working effectively within diverse and multicultural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Resource Development and Fundraising: cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, foundations, corporations, and public funding partners.
  • Be a Catalyst for Community Transformation: guide FRI’s vision and strategy, driving initiatives that improve lives.
  • Build Powerful Partnerships: connect with nonprofits, faith communities, schools, and businesses to amplify impact.
  • Shape Organizational Growth: expand programs and coalitions, bringing innovative solutions for sustainability.
  • Represent FRI with Purpose: be the face of the organization to donors and the community.
  • Champion Equity and Inclusion: ensure programs reflect diverse Far East Dallas.
  • Inspire and Empower Others: lead staff and volunteers with excellence and shared purpose.
  • Provide leadership to staff positions and committees to advance the mission.
