Job summary

Friends of the Children seeks a Development Director in Dallas to lead fundraising efforts for the Dallas chapter under the Executive Director, with Board collaboration and support from the national network.

The role focuses on donor cultivation, development plan execution, grant proposals, special campaigns, events, and building equity in all actions while achieving revenue targets to sustain programming for youth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive fundraising/development experience, or 10+ years overall.
• Proven ability to secure and steward major gifts and work with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate donors including individuals, corporations and foundations.
• Revise and implement a development plan, systems and strategies.
• Plan and implement events for the organization.
• Prepare grant proposals and reports in collaboration with the National Grant Writing team.
• Coordinate with the ED and board on revenue targets and achievements.
• Develop communications for donors and prospects via social media and newsletters.
