Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a nursing leader to oversee one or more patient care departments, ensuring high-quality, efficient care and a strong patient experience. The role includes budgeting, staffing, and leading process improvement to support safe, compassionate care across the continuum.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Master's preferred), Texas license, and at least five years of progressive clinical leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited school; Masters Degree preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Texas license or compact license; professional certification in clinical area or management within one year preferred.
• Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Five years of progressive clinical experience; leadership capability emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day operations for assigned patient care departments with 24/7 responsibility.
• Reviews and approves new hires; sets performance standards; coordinates staffing with managers.
• Collaborates with service line leaders to establish scope, goals and budget; drives process improvement.
• Monitors patient care activities and ensures highest service level and patient experience.
• Ensures budget adherence, forecasts expenses and addresses variances; supports capital requests.
• Promotes physician input and ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
