Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking an Associate Vice President of Beach Building Services to provide strategic vision and executive leadership for planning, construction, maintenance, safety, and service delivery of campus facilities.

The role oversees a significant operating budget, major capital programs, and a large workforce while advising senior leadership and ensuring compliance with CSU requirements.

Qualifications

• Seven years of leadership experience in construction and facilities management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• MPA, MBA, Master’s in Architecture, Engineering or related graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and ensure the integrity and safety of the University’s facilities; set long-range goals and objectives for Physical Planning, Design and Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, and Facilities Management.
• Represent the campus to the Chancellor’s Office, State Department of Finance, Legislative Analyst’s Office, and other agencies; oversee a multi-million dollar operating budget and capital program.
• Coordinate Service Response Program with stakeholders across planning and prioritization processes to balance services and spending.
• Ensure Campus Environmental Health and Safety Program is reviewed annually and followed in all operations.
