California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks an Associate Vice President of Beach Building Services to provide strategic vision and executive leadership for planning, construction, maintenance, safety, and service delivery of campus facilities and environment.

The role oversees a substantial operating budget and capital program, directing 300+ staff and partnering with senior leadership, state agencies, and the Chancellor’s Office to ensure safe, sustainable and fiscally responsible

Qualifications

• Seven years of leadership experience in construction and facilities management with at least three years of executive-level experience in a comprehensive university or other large and complex organization.
• MPA, MBA, Master’s in Architecture, Engineering or related graduate degree preferred.
• Valid CA driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and ensure the integrity and safety of the University’s facilities; establish and direct long-range strategic goals and objectives for Physical Planning, Design and Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, and Facilities Management.
• Oversee campus facilities budgeting and capital programs, ensuring alignment with university priorities and available resources.
• Coordinate with Chancellor’s Office, State agencies, and community stakeholders to advance campus facilities planning and safety initiatives.
• Support safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies across all department operations.
