Job summary

Museum of Art - DeLand seeks an Executive Director to lead strategic growth and strengthen community impact beginning in February 2027. You will champion donor engagement, guide financial stewardship, and partner with the Board to advance the museum's mission.

The ideal candidate has nonprofit leadership experience, a passion for the arts, and a collaborative approach to working with staff, volunteers, and supporters to elevate exhibitions, education programs, and public engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in nonprofit, educational, cultural, philanthropic or related organizations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with fundraising, budgeting, grants, program management, or nonprofit operations preferred.
• Passion for the arts and mission commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Museum.
• Serve as chief fundraiser by cultivating donors, securing sponsorships, writing grants, and leading development initiatives.
• Cultivate relationships with donors, members, volunteers, and community partners.
• Lead and support a team of 19 employees.
• Partner with the Board to advance priorities and planning.
• Oversee membership program with staff and volunteers.
• Serve as primary spokesperson and attend community events.
• Support exhibitions, education programs, and public engagement.
• Ensure sound financial management and organizational sustainability.
