The Orlando Museum of Art is seeking a Development Manager to strengthen and grow the museum’s fundraising program. Reporting to the Executive Director and CEO, you will work closely with senior staff to build durable donor relationships and a sustainable pipeline of philanthropic support.
Responsibilities include developing major gifts strategies, growing corporate sponsorships, managing a donor portfolio, and ensuring effective stewardship, communications, and reporting to leadership.
Founded in 1924, the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) is a cultural anchor for Central Florida and a museum built by and for its community. For more than a century, OMA has brought people together through art—creating opportunities to encounter new ideas, see the world from different perspectives, and engage their own creativity.
Located in Orlando’s Loch Haven Park, OMA is the region’s flagship independent art museum and an American Alliance of Museums–accredited institution. Its collection of more than 3,300 works spans Contemporary Art, American Art, African Art, and the Art of the Ancient Americas, while a dynamic schedule of exhibitions brings local, national, and international perspectives to the museum and the broader community. Each year, OMA welcomes more than 150,000 visitors and reaches thousands more through education, outreach, and community programs.
OMA believes that art has the power to spark curiosity, expand understanding, and enrich lives. Its programs invite people of all ages and backgrounds into that experience—from exhibitions and lectures to studio workshops, family programs, school partnerships, and initiatives designed to make the museum accessible to people with a wide range of abilities and experiences.
As OMA looks toward its next century, the museum is building on a strong legacy while continuing to evolve as a place for artistic engagement, education, and community connection. Its mission is simple and ambitious: to stimulate creativity and intellectual curiosity by connecting people from all backgrounds and experiences with compelling art and new ideas.
For a leader joining OMA at this moment, the opportunity is to help sustain and grow an institution with deep roots in Central Florida while expanding its reach, strengthening its relationships, and advancing the role of art in the life of the community.
The Orlando Museum of Art is seeking a Development Manager to help strengthen and grow the Museum’s fundraising program at an important point in its development. Reporting to the Executive Director and CEO and working closely with senior staff, the Development Manager will play a hands‑on role in building the relationships and practices that support OMA’s philanthropic future.
The Development Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategies to secure major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and planned gifts in alignment with OMA’s mission and strategic priorities. The role will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and corporate donors, with a particular focus on building meaningful, long‑term relationships that deepen engagement and encourage increased philanthropic investment in the Museum, its programs, and its future.
The Development Manager will manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects and develop sponsorship opportunities for exhibitions, educational programs, and institutional initiatives. The position will also help strengthen and formalize OMA’s development systems and practices, creating a stronger foundation for sustainable, long‑term fundraising growth.
This is an opportunity for a development professional who brings both strong relationship‑building skills and the organization, initiative, and follow‑through needed to turn those relationships into lasting support for the Museum.
This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at the Orlando Museum of Art. The role requires regular interaction with museum staff, donors, members, board members, volunteers, community partners, and other constituents. The position is primarily performed in a professional office and museum environment, with occasional work in galleries, event spaces, and other areas of the museum as needed.
The position may require occasional evening and weekend work to support museum events, donor activities, and other organizational priorities. Some local travel may also be required for meetings, events, and cultivation activities.
The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000, with benefits including group healthinsurance and access to a cafeteria plan and 401(k) after two months of employment, seven paid holidays per year, and paid time off accrued weekly beginning on the date of hire; please refer to the Orlando Museum of Art Personnel Policies for additional details.
