Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director to lead AI infrastructure and platform engineering, standing up and operating a premier on-premises AI compute platform. This greenfield build will span hardware, networking, and orchestration with bare-metal Kubernetes and OpenShift leadership.

You will own the operating model, hire and develop a large team, and drive long-term reliability and performance for frontier AI workloads across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Hands-on ownership of bare-metal Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Fluency with high-speed cluster fabrics (RoCE v2, InfiniBand, EVPN-VXLAN).
• 5+ years leading multiple technical teams with 24/7 operations.
• Experience with operational baselines, SLO/SLI, and observability-driven improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute long-range vision for AI infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Own physical AI compute environment, GPU compute, storage and network fabric.
• Oversee 24/7 operations, incident response, change management and governance.
• Lead vendor relationships, budget ownership, and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure security, HIPAA and NIST AI RMF compliance.
