Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is seeking an Executive Director-Academic Strategy (School of Engineering) to lead districtwide academic planning, curriculum alignment, and student success initiatives across its seven colleges and five satellite sites.

The role reports to the Districtwide Dean and Head of the School of Engineering and requires collaboration with faculty, deans, and institutional research to strengthen engineering education and improve retention, completion, and transfer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; doctoral degree preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering education, academic leadership, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program assessment, and resource management.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable learning and working environment.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of transfer pathways, curriculum development, and outcomes assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of districtwide academic strategies for engineering pathways and student success.
• Collaborate with engineering faculty and administrators to align curricula and improve retention and transfer outcomes.
• Develop and implement districtwide processes to evaluate academic initiatives and inform decision-making.
• Monitor and report on enrollment, progression, retention, and graduation metrics to guide improvements.
• Prepare executive reports and dashboards to inform planning and leadership decisions.

Education

Master's degree in Engineering, STEM, or closely related STEM discipline

Ph.D. or equivalent (preferred)
