Qualifications

  • Financial literacy and budget oversight experience.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor stewardship, grant writing, or external relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and follow-through.

Job description

Our client is seeking an Executive Director for their team! This hands-on leadership role is perfect for a collaborative, approachable professional who can move comfortably between strategy, fundraising and community relationships, staff and guest needs, financial oversight, and other demands of a small nonprofit organization.


Responsibilities of the Executive Director


  • Partner with the Board and its committees on strategy, policies, priorities, and organizational performance

  • Manage staffing needs including scheduling, hiring, onboarding, payroll, performance feedback, professional development, personnel records, and workplace concerns

  • Build and steward relationships with community stakeholders

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategy

  • Partner with financial staff on annual budget, cash flow, revenue, expenses, variances, and authorized expenditures

  • Oversee property maintenance, housekeeping, repairs, vendors, building and security systems, emergency preparedness, and risk-management practices

  • Maintain policies and procedures


Qualifications of the Executive Director


  • Leadership or management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or other mission-driven organization

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant nonprofit management experience preferred; equivalent combinations of education, experience, and demonstrated leadership will be considered

  • Financial literacy and experience developing, managing, or monitoring an organizational budget

  • Experience in fundraising, donor stewardship, grant writing, and/or external relations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building, organization, and follow-through abilities

  • Sound judgment, discretion, and respect for confidentiality
