Job Summary
The Executive Director will exemplify the very essence of Red Mountain Grace. To effectively execute the mission of RMG, he or she must be a Christ follower, be focused on business leadership, and be passionate about non-profit fundraising. RMG possesses a scalable model that focuses on efficiency without compromising service. The executive director must make decisions that are mission focused but backed by sound financial stewardship. He or she must have keen instincts in the ways of growing and scaling in a start-up environment and continue to establish solution-based applications, processes, and procedures. This position will report directly to the RMG Board of Directors.
Organizational Leader:
- Ability to cast a vision and generate support

People Manager:
- Ability to manage RMG employees effectively and delegate tasks accordingly
- Ensures job descriptions are current and employees are fully utilized in their positions
- Conducts performance appraisals as required and is willing to implement corrective action if needed
Development Focused:
- Responsible for creating a fundraising strategy and execution plan to drive the overall growth of RMG
- Motivated to establish relationships with new donors while maintaining relationships with current supporters
Business Manager:
- Responsible for growing/scaling the organization effectively
- Can recognize trends and dissect financial reporting/analytics to adjust accordingly
- Ability to discern mission vs. non-mission requests
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Advanced degree in a related field is beneficial
Experience:
- Previous experience in any of the following areas, individually or in combination, is strongly preferred:
- Non-profit organizational leadership
- Non-profit fundraising and development
- Other formal business leadership experience
- Experience in a startup organization or company and/or a background in process/procedure development is verybeneficial
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills required
- Ability to successfully delegate tasks and build teams to accomplish goals
- Basic budget development and management skills required
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based tools required. Experience with Google apps, Quickbooks, CRMs, Mailchimp, etc is a plus.
Major Responsibilities:
- The Executive Director is responsible for establishing and executing major goals and objectives for the organization
- Implements the organization’s policies and procedures
- Provides leadership, direction and guidance of the organization’s activities
- Responsible for lease renewals and apartment acquisitions
- Maintains effective communication tools, training, statistics and helpful information about the organization for use by all employees, volunteers and directors
- Represents the organization to regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors, funders and supporters, and the general public
- Ensures compliance to minimum standards in accordance with all government legislation, regulations and guidelines pertinent to the organization’s role as an employer and non-profit agency
- Maintains a competent and effective staff; leads and develops the team accordingly
- Provides leadership to organization personnel (paid staff and volunteers) through effective objective setting, delegation, training and communication
- Ensures adequate onboarding and training of new employees, volunteers and directors as needed
- Develops and implements strategies for capital campaigns, events, outreach and ministry functions
- Develop a plan for fundraising annually, with quarterly goals
- Drive support through one-on-one meetings with donors, relationships with Foundations, and relationships with for-profit businesses
- Maintains full awareness of the financial, statistical, and accounting records of the organization
- Oversees the preparation of the annual budget for Board approval
- Analyzes trends in the financials, and makes appropriate operational changes when necessary
- Ensures operating expenses are within budget
- Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial accounting and reporting (Including monthly employee and personal expense reports)
- Oversees the preparation of the donor acknowledgement letters
