Job summary

Ocala Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking a Deputy Director to assist the CEO in managing day-to-day operations and providing policy direction across agency departments. This executive role may act as CEO in the CEO's absence and requires strong leadership to drive capital planning, community engagement, and HUD reporting.

The Deputy Director will engage with residents, oversee budgets, plan agency initiatives, and represent OHA in meetings with public and private organizations.

Qualifications

• Current knowledge of governmental rules and regulations and Social Service systems.
• Specialized knowledge of the operation and maintenance of large-scale apartment dwellings and grounds.
• Working knowledge of the principles of real estate management; working knowledge of finance and accounts as related to real estate management; ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
• Broad awareness of current trends in management consulting, organizational development, and administration of public and private for-profit organizations. Ability to apply this knowledge to the management of affordable housing programs and projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal consultant to the CEO on day-to-day management of OHA
• Represent the CEO at meetings with public, private, and community-based organizations
• Act as Acting Secretary to the Board in the absence of the CEO
• Participate in executive staff and agency-wide meetings
• Participate in the selection process for senior-level management positions
• Manage Capital Fund budgets and prepares HUD reports
• Meet with residents and resident organizations to gain input on customer service
• Facilitate the preparation and submission of OHA's One and Five-Year Agency Plans
• Oversee design of publications, public announcements and press releases to promote housing programs
