Job summary

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) seeks a Deputy Division Chief for the Global Markets Analysis (GA) Division, based at IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. The role is a key member of GA’s management team shaping the division’s work on global financial market surveillance and GFSR production.

The DDC will lead a team of economists, oversee flagship reports, and coordinate cross-departmental work, including engagement with EMDEs, financial institutions, and international forums as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or related field, with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in leading teams and managing large projects.
• Strong network of financial market contacts, especially in EMDEs.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative abilities and macro linkage awareness.
• Experience in the financial sector or official institutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead GA team of financial sector experts and economists.
• Oversee drafting of GFSR chapters and present findings to Fund and external audiences.
• Provide leadership in the Global Markets Monitor and related briefings to senior management.
• Represent the Fund in G-7, G-20 meetings as needed.
• Coordinate collaboration with other departments on country- and region-specific risks.
