Job summary

American Management Association seeks a Manager of the New York City Executive Conference Center to ensure exceptional customer experiences and flawless execution of seminars and client meetings.

You will oversee daily operations, manage budgets and vendor relationships, and drive revenue growth through strategic planning and marketing partnerships. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for this fast-paced, client-facing role located in NYC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field.
  • Three+ years managing corporate events, conference centers, hospitality operations, or related customer-facing work.
  • Three+ years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience managing operating budgets, vendor relationships, and facility operations.
  • Two+ years in business development, sales, account management, or marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service while managing multiple events and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with event management, CRM, or scheduling systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Occasional work outside standard hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and flawlessly execute AMA public seminars, on-site programs, and external client meetings.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Executive Conference Center with high service standards.
  • Achieve or exceed operational efficiency, revenue, and budget goals through planning and financial management.
  • Develop, administer, and monitor the Conference Center's operating and revenue budgets.
  • Serve as liaison with building owner, hotels, vendors, and service providers; negotiate guest rooms, catering, and maintenance contracts.
  • Plan capital improvements, maintenance, and facility enhancements to reflect AMA's brand and learning environment.
  • Develop and implement business development and local marketing to increase utilization and drive revenue.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and execute sales for use of facilities and services.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless event planning and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify efficiency and profitability improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
