Job summary

Under policy direction, the manager will lead major divisions, develop programs, oversee budgets, and collaborate with other city departments to address community needs. Salary range is $196,612 to $250,978 with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: 4–6 years of managerial experience, including supervisory experience.
• Substitution: Education or experience may substitute for other requirements per policy.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements division goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
• Monitors the work of subordinates and coaches to improve performance.
• Directs allocation of resources to meet budget and program priorities.
• Plans, organizes, directs, controls and reviews major departmental functions.
• Assesses organizational structure and processes to identify improvements.
• Communicates with executive management and coordinates with other City departments.
• Responds to community needs and provides consultation to boards and agencies.
• Participates in budget development and monitors expenditures for a major area.
• Provides executive management with cost containment options and early warnings.
