Job summary

StoryPoint Shaker Heights is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary and dining department, overseeing food costs, inventory, and safety. The role emphasizes resident and guest satisfaction, menu development, and staff leadership in a high-end dining environment.

The ideal candidate has a culinary degree, at least four years in culinary management, and proven leadership. This position reports to site leadership and requires excellence in service and QA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related culinary degree.
• Certified Executive Chef preferred.
• Minimum four years of industry and culinary management experience.
• Upscale dining experience required.
• Demonstrates leadership, customer service, and strong organization/time management skills.
• Experience with menu development and pricing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Culinary labor, food and small ware financial management experience.

Responsibilities

• Achieve 100% resident satisfaction through plate presentation and taste.
• Circulate dining rooms for resident feedback.
• Establish presentation techniques and quality standards.
• Hire, coach, train, inspire and direct culinary staff; maintain scheduling and employee reviews.
• Develop Sous Chef and Lead Cook for additional leadership duties.
• Directly manage food cost, labor costs, menu engineering, recipes and standardization.
• Ensure proper equipment operation, safety and sanitation policies.
• Oversee catering events and culinary demonstrations.
• Maintain a positive team environment and public relations with residents, families and guests.
• Function as Manager on Duty with site leadership.
