Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education, part of Compass Group USA, seeks an Executive Chef for Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. You will oversee kitchen operations, direct meal preparation, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a culinary leadership background, menu planning, staff training, and strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation. A BS in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred; ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience desirable.
• Hands-on chef with knowledge of food cost controls and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations and ensure sanitary work environment.
• Prepare or direct preparation of meals per corporate programs and guidelines.
• Plan menus and utilize production worksheets and waste logs.
• Train staff in food safety, equipment operation, and sanitation.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and inventory to meet guidelines.
• Adhere to health regulations and safety policies.
