Ruth's Chris is seeking an Executive Chef in Walnut Creek, CA to lead the culinary team, uphold top-quality food and safety standards, and drive guest satisfaction and profitability.

You will oversee daily kitchen operations, event planning support, scheduling, food prep, cost control, and staff development while maintaining a compliant, productive work environment and a strong guest service focus.

Qualifications

• Formal business education or restaurant management degree is a plus.
• Demonstrate exceptional guest service mentality.
• Strong communication skills with ability to resolve conflict and provide mentorship to hourly team members.
• Illustrate effective organization and time management skills.
• Successful completion of corporate training program required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire and train BOH personnel and provide ongoing training.
• Perform line checks to ensure quality and quantity of food.
• Inspect kitchen operation and storage to meet high standards of excellence, safety and sanitation.
• Manage kitchen financial results to drive profitability of the restaurant.
• Purchase inventory according to sales volumes, forecast and PARs.
• Proficient in all cooking positions and skills; ensure proper scheduling and staffing.
• Actively source talent to build a winning team.
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays and weekends.
