Job summary

CareOne in Bergen County, NJ is seeking an Executive Chef for a full-time role in our Culinary Services department. The position oversees planning, development, and supervision of kitchen operations to deliver high-quality meals and patient-centered service.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Activities, Nursing and Social Services, recruiting and scheduling staff, and ensuring compliance with state requirements (e.g., ServSafe).

Qualifications

• High-school diploma and ServSafe certification required.
• 2 years managerial experience in kitchen operations preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Salary Range - $60,000 to $70,000 per year

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, & directing the Culinary Services department, its’ programs and activities
• Coordinate Culinary Services with other departments (i.e. Activities, Nursing, Social Services, etc)
• Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of Culinary Services personnel.
• Determine departmental staffing requirements necessary to meet the Culinary Services department needs and assign a sufficient number of personnel for each shift
• Schedule department work hours (including vacation and holiday schedule), personnel, work assignments, etc. to expedite work
• Additional duties as required

Education

High-school diploma

Necessary certification required by the state ie ServSafe

Professional Experience

• Healthcare experience preferred
• 2 years managerial experience
• Supervisory experience in kitchen operations
• Must be able to read, write, speak, & understand the English language
• Culinary skills required
