Job summary

Elior Collegiate Dining at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste Marie, MI, is seeking an experienced executive chef to lead food production, develop recipes, and ensure quality and cost objectives across services.

You will supervise the team, manage budgets, plan events, and contribute to campus dining with fresh, healthy options. A three-year culinary background and budget experience are required; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Three years of progressive culinary experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software programs.
  • Experience preparing budget statements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food production quality, purchasing, specs, meal prep, service and sanitation.
  • Develop standardized recipes and tools to meet quality and cost targets.

The Role at a glance
  • Sign On Bonus of $2500$1250 paid out after 90 days of employment, $1250 paid out after 6 months of employment

We are looking to add an experienced, motivated executive chef for our Elior Collegiate Dining team in Sault Ste Marie, MI. As an executive chef, you will have the opportunity to prepare delicious, healthy food for guests.

What you'll be doing
  • Supervising the quality standards and practices of the food production process, including purchasing, food specifications, meal preparation, service, and sanitation.
  • Developing standardized recipes and utilizing other production tools to ensure food quality and cost objectives are met.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of special events.
What we're looking for

Must-haves:

  • At least three years of progressive culinary experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs.
  • Experience with budget statements.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts.

Compensation Range

Compensation for this position is up to $75,000 / year based on experience.
