The Iron Horse Hotel has an immediate opening for a qualified leader to join our team as the Culinary Director.

Your Mission:

  • Lead with Excellence: Oversee all aspects of the culinary department, including menu development, quality assurance, and proper food handling/storage in line with standards.
  • Mentor and Inspire: Recruit, train, and evaluate culinary staff, fostering open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize and Execute: Set daily priorities, assign tasks, and ensure kitchens are well-stocked and equipped to meet demands.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor banquet orders, ensure quality of received supplies, and evaluate staff performance to uphold high standards.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Regularly inspect kitchen areas, coach staff, and ensure attention to detail and quality.
  • Innovative Menu Development: Collaborate with the Catering team on special menus and client meetings.
  • Continuous Training: Oversee onboarding and ongoing training programs, adjusting staffing as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years leading culinary operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with progressive responsibility.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse culinary team and develop appealing menus.
  • Innovative Mindset: Interest in current food trends and ability to evaluate their relevance to enhance guest experience.
  • Food Manager certification is required.
